Aptera, which closed in 2011 after failing to raise funds for its three-wheel electric car, claims it has built the first "never-charge solar vehicle," and says the vehicle's integrated solar panels can deliver thousands of miles of driving range each year. The startup announced Friday that it accepted more than 3,000 reservations for its efficient three-wheeler from US and international customers, totaling to more than $100 million in sales. Within 24 hours after its December 4 launch, Aptera allocated all 330 reservations for its Paradigm and Paradigm Plus models, which it will build first once production begins.
What are the Properties of Aptera
As you can see, the electric car Aptera, bearing the signature of Aptera Motors, is definitely not a standard car model. The car, whose design is focused on high aerodynamics, is designed for two people and has a single wheel behind it. In other words, Aptera, which goes on three wheels in total, offers an incredible 1,600 km range at the top. However, those who wish can choose the car with battery options that bring 643 km and 956 km range. The model, which can be purchased as 100 kW front-wheel drive or 150 kW four-wheel drive, can optionally be equipped with solar panels integrated into the roof. It is reported that these panels bring a range of 16 to 40 km per day depending on the sun. These range values seem quite adequate for urban use. The normal range of the vehicle makes it easily suitable for very, very long roads. Behind this high range is the very low friction, as well as the incredibly light weight of the electric car model.
Conditions of Purchase
Aptera co-founder Chris Anthony also made a very detailed statement on this subject. Introduced with the slogan "Never Charge", the car has already gained enormous popularity. Let's answer for those who say what is the price of this strange environmentally friendly car: Two options are offered as Paradigm and Paradigm Plus. Pricing also varies depending on the options. The base model will range in price from $25,900 to $46,000. Pre-orders for Aptera's Paradigm and Paradigm Plus models are now open for a refundable deposit of $100.
The Significance of Aptera
The pollution problem is exacerbated by global transportation everyday. This situation has negatively affected the environmental quality and directed it to different energy sources for vehicle performance. With the addition of the depletion of future oil reserves to these, the demand for electric vehicles accelerated. However, the history of electric vehicles dates back to the 1800s and has been shelved for years due to the range problem. In this study, the first development date of electric vehicles, current models and latest technologies (such as Aptera), types of battery charging stations and electric motors used were investigated, and expectations and predictions about the future of the whole system were included.
